A guide to using the Portal
A portal is a website that is the gateway to a set of information and resources on a particular subject.
The New Zealand Literacy Portal provides easy access to information on adult literacy.
The purpose of the portal
To build a collective knowledge base of literacy information, and to provide a single, convenient point of access to that collective knowledge base.
To provide information that assists people involved in literacy to network and collaborate.
To provide information or web-services which assists literacy research institutions to network and exchange information.
The portal
Aims to leverage many different sources of literacy information and to avoid duplicating existing on-line resources.
Maintains a comprehensive listing of literacy contacts worldwide, including contacts at all levels of government, research and education institutions, private sector and business contacts.
Catalogues research and best practice that has been published by government, tertiary or private research organisations.
Provides information on current NZ literacy projects.
